    Developed by: Maysa Akbar, Ph.D.

The primary mission of New Connections is to provide children and adolescents ages 4 through 18 in New Haven County with a personalized program offering comprehensive, child-centered, culturally-competent therapeutic services. New Connections offers Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) services, Social Skills groups for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Girls Circle groups, Training Series for Parents with Children with ASD, and UConn Mentoring. Through participation in a variety of socialization activities that address mutually-agreed upon therapeutic goals, staff and program members will develop a strong, nurturing relationship based on trust and respect, which allows children to grow and express themselves in a constructive manner, identify their strengths, and gain a new appreciation and acceptance of others in their community.
